NeaRa works with most Windows compatible hardware. The best video results are achieved using a HD Webcam such as the Logitec C910/C920/C930 or the Microsoft HD Lifecam. For a video conference environment we recommend a speaker system such as the Clearone Chat speakerphone although any windows speaker and microphone will work thanks to NeaRa`s echo cancelation. NeaRa provides an ideal solution on a 10 inch Windows Intel Atom tablet such as the Dell Venue 10 Pro. Of course you are free to use your own choice of windows PC, desktop, notebook or tablet.

NeaRa Enterprise and Ultimate can transfer HD video images even at low bandwidths using the HD-Whiteboard function. A minimum upload speed of 800kbps is required for the streaming HD webcam images.  NeaRa works at upload bandwidths as low as 200kbps.

All online licenced NeaRa participants from your company will automatically appear in the online user list without needing to register. All other participants can collaborate using a session ID.

Normally NeaRa will do all this for you but if you are having difficulties connecting with a participant you may need to configure the router for port forwarding. NeaRa can do this if UPnP is activated.

To manually configure the router go to its “port forwarding” settings and create a new port forwarding rule for the computer in question. Use the “other application” or “UDP protocol” settings, set the protocol for UDP and set all the ports (e.g. start, end and through) to one value of your choice e.g. above 60000. Now go to the settings menu in NeaRa and enter the same port value from the router e.g. 60000 under Connections/Port forwarding/Router port.

NeaRa is a dedicated remote expert system with maximum security and does not use relay servers for your private data. This form of communication is called point-to-point or serverless and at present allows a maximum of two participant to collaborate at one time.

At present, NeaRa works on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. We are however planning on making NeaRa available for Mac and mobile devices. Further developments will be announce on our website.
